GAVRT - Goldstone Apple Valley Radio Telescope

The middle school students have been working with scientists at the Goldstone Apple Valley Radio Telescope. On Wednesday, November 30, 2005, 1300 -1500 UT, the Menwith Hill 8th grade class successfully conducted a radio telescope scan for calibration purposes of Galaxy Virgo A (3C247) followed by data gathering scans of the planet Jupiter. The students are in the process of compiling their data for the purposes of forwarding it to the Lewis Center for Educational Research (GAVRT & JPL) for review.
