Any student interested in participating in sports must have a valid physical examination form on file with the school nurse. Please call the base clinic at ext. 7885 to set up a time for a physical examination. Students will not be allowed to practice without a valid physical on file with the school nurse.

Menwith Hill High School participates as a DoDDS-Europe Division IV school in the following interscholastic sports:

Autumn
Winter
Cheerleading
Spring

Note: 7th and 8th graders may participate in cross country, wrestling and track. Competitions for these students does not involve travel outside the UK. In addition the base Youth Services program offers a number of sports for children of all ages.

Football
The football team is open to all students in grades 9-12. Please call the school office for more information. The first game is Sep. 16, 2006 at home against AFNORTH.

Girls Volleyball
The volleyball team is open to girls in grades 9-12. Matches are held against other DoDDS schools in the United Kingdom and the continent.

Cross Country
The cross country program is open to girls and boys in grades 7-12. Students in grades 7 and 8 compete against other middle school students in the United Kingdom. Varsity athletes in grades 9 to 12 can expect to compete on the continent as well as in the UK.

The basketball teams are open to students in grades 9-12. Games are played in the United Kingdom, Iceland, Belgium and Germany.

Soccer
Soccer is a spring sport and is open to all boys and girls in grades 9-12. This year we will field two teams - a boys' team and a girls' team. Students will compete against other DoDDS schools in the UK and the continent.

Track and Field
The track team is open to all students in grades 7-12. 7th and 8th graders compete against other middle school students in the UK on a non-scoring basis. Students in grades 9-12 can expect to compete in the UK as well as on the continent. The base has a six-lane all-weather track approximately a quarter-mile from the school.
