School Accreditation and School Improvement Plan

The mission of Menwith Hill Elementary/High School is to prepare students to succeed in a global community.

Menwith Hill Elementary/High School is accredited by the North Central Association (NCA).

School Improvement Plan (SIP) - SY 2007/2008:

The goals of Menwith Hill Elementary/High School are:

  1. All students will increase their ability to evaluate and analyze information from a variety of sources across the curriculum.
  2. All Students will increase their ability to communicate in a variety of formats across the curriculum.
Support data used to select goal:
  • Terra Nova scores
  • Terra Nova Median National Percentile Scores
  • 2nd semester 2005 report cards for grades 6-12 as compared to Terra Nova scores
  • 45% of teachers rated implementation of DoDEA standards as among their top three educational values
  • IDEA model local problem solving assessment - SIP 2001-2006
  • Environmental scan data

Interventions:

  • (Implementation 07-08) All students will identify and define the parts of graphs and charts.
  • (Implementation 07-08) All students will analyze information presented in graphs and charts.
  • (Implementation 08-09) All students will be able to determine whether they have sufficient information from graphs and charts to answer questions and/or draw conclusions.
